Adult stem cell bank opens in Australia

Australia's first adult stem cell bank Cytentia has commenced operation in Melbourne to produce, store and distribute adult-tissue-derived stem cells (including iPS cells) for pre-clinical and clinical research. Hosted by the O'Brien Institute in the St Vincent's Hospital precinct, the bank will operate in compliance with the principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and follow the soon to be published International Guidelines for Stem Cell Banking of the International Stem Cell Banking Initiative (ISCBI). See www.bobim.org for more information.
