RIKEN Centre for Developmental Biology, Japan

The RIKEN CDB is a government-funded research institute located in Kobe, Japan. Many CDB labs focus on the study of stem and progenitor cells as part of the institute’s mission to conduct basic research into development and regeneration in order to provide a solid scientific foundation for regenerative medicine.

The CDB is not a network per se, and its activities are primarily research-related. The Center holds a 3-day symposium annually, and occasional smaller meetings throughout the year. Internships are available for students enrolled in affiliated graduate and medical schools, and RIKEN (the CDB parent organization) offers various employment opportunities for non-Japanese students and postdocs.
