Stem Cell Network North Rhine Westphalia

Stem Cell Network North Rhine Westphalia

The Stem Cell Network NRW is an initiative of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), the largest German State by population and GDP. Its statewide organisation makes it possible to coordinate all adult and embryonic stem cell research activities. The central pillars of the Stem Cell Network are the biomedical and ethical-legal-social working groups who work very closely together.

Since its conception in 2002, the main objectives of the NRW Stem Cell Network have been the establishment of a platform for scientific exchange and the creation of a forum for public debate on stem cell research. Through funding of young researchers and interdisciplinary research projects, North Rhine-Westphalia has set up a research net of a type previously unknown in Germany. Therefore the network is also highly regarded by representatives of politics and press. The Stem Cell Network stands for research from North Rhine-Westphalia in international consortia and research communities.

The office of the Stem Cell Network NRW is located in the Ministry of Science and Research of North Rhine Westphalia, Düsseldorf. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at:
